Friday lunch: Peli Peli vegetarian dish test kitchen
Friday dinner: Surf & Turf with cauliflower rice & sauteed mushrooms (family pack of 2 meals) = $30
Saturday lunch: Leftovers from Surf & Turf with cauliflower rice & sauteed mushrooms family pack.
Saturday dinner: Cheat Day! Assorted food from my niece's graduation party
Sunday lunch: JoBurger keto-style (served on bed of lettuce, no bun) with cauliflower rice. $12
Sunday dinner: Peri Peri boneless thigh with the Blitz hot sauce - served with cauliflower rice and a side of cucumber salad. $12
3 workouts this weekend:
Friday: weights for 1 hour
Saturday: 5 mile run 9:56/mi pace
Sunday: weights for 1 hour
Peli Peli is working on adding more authentic South African dishes as well as a renewed focus on healthier and locally-sourced foods. Friday lunch we got to experience a vegetarian-focused tasting from Chef Ryan and his team: Rahil Roopani, Zohra Roopani, Chef Macey Maples and Chef Marvin Navalta. While I didn't eat at PPK, I did taste 8 proposed dishes! Stay tuned for which ones make the final cut for our new menu at Peli Peli Woodlands!
Friday night I ordered off of our catering menu and got a family pack that would feed for me Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch. Sometimes it's hard to cook every night, so getting family pack and eating from it for a couple of days definitely saved me a lot of time while allowing me to stay on my 30 day program. Leftovers didn't disappoint either!
Saturday night was my niece's graduation party, so I obviously got to cheat for one night and ate whatever I wanted to! Video of the food spread posted below in one of the comments!
Sunday I enjoyed our keto-friendly JoBurger for lunch with the family and then the Peri Peri boneless thigh with cauliflower rice and cucumber salad for dinner.
Week one was super interesting and very exciting as well. So far I'm down almost 5 pounds, so definitely no surprises thus far. I eat at PPK pretty much every day so I know how it makes me feel. The fun part is demonstrating to the general public what our food will do to me. Can't wait for my reveal on Houston Life on June 27th to see how much weight I have lost!
